Scooting Along

Zachary now falls to his tummy from sitting up when he bravely reaches long distances for his toys. Oh, how he hates his tummy! But he is able to scoot along on it-backwards- as he fusses and fusses at the indignity of it all. He can also scoot forward when he is on his back- it's rather comical to watch.

This week's fun has centered around the introduction of popsicles (pureed fruits frozen into those clever popsicle makers from Target) and cheese. He has been delighted with both.

Six month photos

Leaving on a jet plane

Zachary went to California and his first airplane ride went smoothly.

He thought flying was quite fun and was glad not to share a seat.

Great-Grandma was overjoyed to meet her first and only great-grandchild from her first (and best) grandchild.

He practiced crawling with Grandma

Zachary loved meeting Aunt Shannon for her graduation

Half Birthday!

Zachary is six-months-old today. We went for a professional photo shoot this afternoon (as opposed to our usual Target portraits). He had the best time giggling and laughing at the photographer. We even got some naked baby butt shots (and Zachary left behind a little wet spot on the blanket). Hopefully, we will have them to share next week.

At the beginning of this week, he went into the pediatrician for his shots and six-month appointment- measuring 28 inches and weighing in at 19 pounds, 2 ounces.

His tooth finally cracked through the surface and he has been having some rough nights as a result. We are hoping these will soon resolve and our wonderful baby who sleeps through the night soundly will return. We are still struggling with naps. I can't get him to sleep except in the car or on me.

Although he has rolled a handful of times from belly to back, Zachary isn't much interested in repeating. He sits on his own wonderfully though and will generally sit upwards of fifteen minutes without tipping over. He also can "creep" himself forward when he is on his back- he looks like a little inchworm.

What a joy he is when he giggles with delight. How blessed I am.
